Disingenuous

Politicians and commentators on the right who preach against health care and energy reform claim to be fighting for our children’s future. Reform costs too much, they say. We must, they argue, defeat these proposals because they will create a huge debt that will be left on the backs of our children.

These, of course, are the same people who voted to take trillions out of the economy to give tax relief to the wealthiest Americans, create an un-funded drug benefit, and fight two wars.  If these conservative voices really cared about the future of our children they would be fighting to enact progressive health care reform, and tough regulations to fight climate change.  Left unresolved, these two issues are the biggest burdens we can leave our children.
